Um, can I be you when I grow up? Girlfriend, you have got yourself a gift! These pictures are too cute. Of coure, the kiddos are adorable, but still! I'm tellin' you, whenever I get engaged, I know who I'm calling! :)

I agree! Too much is spent on Christmas and Everything in this world is taking away the real meaning. We do the whole advent celebration throughout the month and focus on Jesus. We dont tell them theres a santa. The gifts they get are from us and a blessing. Its about Jesus here, not gifts. Ofcourse Im sure the kids love the gifts part...lol

when my oldest questioned me if santa came to our sponsored child in india i could not lie.....since then we changed christmas.....we scale back the decorations....the sugary treats...the presents......we are doing one gift per child this year....they understand why....we also celebrate advent by lighting a candle each night before bed and praying around our dinner table with it all dark and holy......i have given up sharing our vision with extended family because they never comply and i give them lists of things that are more needs than wants.....christmas used to make me all grinchy but now i just want to love the spirit of our lord's birth....

I agree that the concept is great--amazing and convicting and hope-giving (in the midst of being a little discouraging)--but the implementation is more complicated.... With extended family traditions it's especially hard, but even within our own family, it's hard to know how to get kids on board without leaving them feeling just a little disappointed and therefore somewhat missing the point. I'd like to start small and help them grow a passion for it so it's a passion and not a disappointment, but the first steps are the hardest, even if they're the smallest. Just like so many other steps on the journey... I'd love to hear specific ideas!!!

I really cannot count how many times I have watched this video. It just seems if we all caught the vision and did a little then so many lives could be changed. Moreover, their lives could be saved from death. With their lives being saved from physical death then they can be reached with Jesus of the Gospels and His truth will save their soul.

I think we all want to be part of something bigger than ourselves. I think the how is just a bit harder.

I also think we all battle the "My family has always done it this way" dilemma.

Does anyone have any ideas of how to jump over that notion with family?
