A Valeria Boss Salon.

A slice of Heaven on Earth. That is what this experience is. If you live in Springfield, MO. you need to treat yourself to a day with Valerie and her staff. Everyone is equally engaging and fun to be around. Talent flows from their hands just as an artist paints on a canvas. Serious. It is just that good. I will try and detail my 2 1/2 hour experience.

  • I walk in and am greeted by the hostess who already calls me by name. After filling out some quick paperwork, I am escorted around the building for a tour. During the tour I choose from a selection of lemon water, cucumber water, orange water, or some form of lemonade. It is served in a pretty stem glass at the station where my hair will be cut.
  • After the tour I am directed to the room where I trade my shirt for an official robe. (Why is this so relaxing? I have no clue, I just know that it is.)
  • Sitting in a warm chair with my lemon water in hand, Valerie discusses styles and options with me. A plan is made and comfort is setting in.
  • Valerie’s assistant (I am so sorry I forgot your name) takes me to the “lather lounge” for a LONG shampoo and head massage. This is seriously the best part of the whole experience. I was completely lost in the moment. Relaxing is an understatement. This girl deserves some sort of award for her amazing skills.
  • Feeling like I just lost 10 pounds of stress, I find myself sitting in the chair ready for cut and style. Conversation is good and flows with ease. I am sure that this is a mastered skill. Laughter is always good. Always.
  • The cut is amazing.
  • I nearly felt like a princess when two women stood next to me with blow dryers in hand. I felt honored to be their project. They had a hard job. Lord bless them.
  • Valerie came back to smooth out my hair with the flat iron. She has an amazing way of teaching as she is doing. It only makes sense that she would show you how to style your hair so that your hair looks the best. A walking business card of sorts. Product was applied and all was done.
  • I felt amazing. Yes, I did. I just may look at my calendar and plan my next journey to Springfield, MO.
